Years of Culture Qatar-MENASA 2022
The Years of Culture initiative is an international cultural exchange that deepens understanding between nations and their people through a year-long events programme in Qatar and abroad.
My role as Content Manager for the newly revamped Years of Culture website (launched in February 2022) involves organisation, copywriting, copyediting, managing image and video content and creating detailed content plans across the site for both English and Arabic versions (working closely with a translator).
I collaborate with multiple teams across different timezones, managing content requests often with short deadlines. I have written engaging Editorial articles highlighting entrepreneurs, designers and artists in Qatar and across the Middle East, South Asia and North of Africa.
For Example:
As well as sourcing, editing and creating content with a focus on cultural events, exhibitions and attractions in Doha, I've written interview questions for leading Qatari cultural figures from artists to designers and photographers.
I have also undertaken tailored research packages to inform photo shoot locations, presentations, pitches and content created for the Years of Culture brand.
About Years of Culture
The Years of Culture initiative is an international cultural exchange that deepens understanding between nations and their people through a year-long events programme.
Under the leadership of its Chairperson Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Museums (QM) developed the annual “Years of Culture” initiative in 2012.
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Years of Culture began with Qatar-Japan in 2012, building successful cultural partnerships with the Uk, Brazil, Turkey, China, Germany, Russia, India, France and the USA.
In 2022 for the first time, Years of Culture partnered with an entire region - MENASA (the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia).
